Hello everyone.... I have a problem with my truck. About two weeks ago my truck wouldnt start so I went and got a new battery. That new battery was bad or so I thought so I returned it and got another one. This fixed my problem at least for a little while. Today I drove my truck about three miles with no issues stopping at the gas station and grocery store. Got home no problems. This evening I went out to start it again and it clicked once and all of the lights turned off.

I wiggled the positive terminal and the lights came back on but they cut out when I tried to start it again. The battery is on the charger now and is not pulling many amps so I do not think this is the problem. Any ideas on what I should try next? Im thinking ground but part of me just wants to have my mechanic change out all of the cables. Thanks in advance for your help.

One more question. Can anyone tell me what length the cables are supposed to be if I end up having to change them? Thanks

None of the battery wires should cause a problem from being wiggled.

The connection isn't clean, not tight enough, or the wiring or crimp is damaged.

Remove and clean all the connections with the large red and black wires near the battery.

Make sure to remove any oxidation or crud.
Reassemble and snug up connections with a wrench.

If you don't identify any obvious problems,
search YouTube for voltage drop testing.

This testing will easily expose wiring, crimp or connection faults, even those that aren't visible.
