Steering Column Gear shift Boot

Why can I not find just the boot? The boot around my steering column gear shift lever is broken. I cannot find just the boot. Everywhere I look I have to buy the lever also. Can anyone help me find just the boot? Picture attached 2009 RAM 1500 BigHorn 4x4...

A buddy of mine tried to find the boot seperately a few years ago with no luck either.Makes me think it might not be a seperate servicable part,so you might have to live with it,or buy the shifter assembly.He just lived with it,and said he quit looking at it,that way it didn't bother him as much,lol

Did you ever find out how to replace your gear selector boot? Mine is bad and needs replacing

I bought just the boot a few years ago , part # 68400287AA
I purchased from eBay
Nismopar

Approximately $30 plus
It is still on the shelf , have not installed yet.

I found this thread a couple of weeks ago while trying to find the replacement boot for my 2014 1500. For whatever reason 2014 only shows up by ordering the whole shifter. The boot (68400287AA) for everything else looked the same and I found one on Amazon for 16 bucks. This part does in fact fit a 2014 1500. The only thing I messed up was I stretched it over the knob instead of taking the shifter apart. It split the collar a little. For 16 bucks I will probably order another one and install it the right way lol.

It does not look to terrible of a job , but I put it off ,then forgot about it .
Now that this post showed up , I suppose it is time to get er done.
I will try to post any tips if possible ,when I’m finished.
