Hey there all,

I just installed a 3" bodylift , not a kit containing all the parts,
everything is in and working fine,
for the gear shifter (auto) i used a linkage from a ram 2500 , its exactlly 3" longer..
tcase linkage was easy ,
for the steering, i left it bolted in and lifted slowly being told it will extend itself sometimes?.... it did extend,

it extended at the firewall, i attached a pic, where the red dots and arrow are is where it seems to slide out about 1" or so ,...

any thoughts on this, i dont think its supposed to extend there, has anyone elses?

What year model? I dont think it supposed to extend there. All the body lift I have ever installed always use a steering extension. I believe I did a 2000 or 2001 ram last year and it had a steering extension that bolted in place somewhere along the steering shaft. It unbolted and the firewall side shaft separates from the steering box shaft side and the extension takes up the gap.

year 1995 , 1500 ram

it seems to be stiff as always, cant figure out why it wouldnt extend at the slip joint if it only moves 1.5" at the most..........:birgits_tiredcoffee

Not a lot of folks on here runing a body lift.

I'm sure if someone is, that had this issue, they'll chime in.
