Another question, will my brakes all bolt up or will I have to get a new master cylinder for the 3/4 brakes??

What size calipers ya have 7500 gvw or the 8800 gvw ones? 8800 gvw ones I would get the larger master cylinder, i'm not sure on the 7500 ones. If that makes sense lol.

1996 is the the 12 valve :)

I think you're right though.
Actually, 94-early 98 is 12v. ;)

As John said, it depends on what brakes it has. 8800GVWR brakes are the best to have but they also require the matching master cylinder.

Dana 60 or 70? Can't find any numbers..

See that metal tag held on with two bolts, take it off, clean it wire wheel it whatever that has your diff info on it, it is also stamped into the drivers side diff tube clean the tube and look for it.

Get all your Q's into one post and I will answer them as best I can.

You'll need the larger master cylinder then I'm pretty sure. Started the swap yet? :D

About 1 month away from attempting this axle swap and 4.56 gear swap! Question that popped into my head... You guys say the front driveshaft won't need to be modified but wouldn't a D60 have a bigger driveshaft u-joint than my stock D44?? So wouldn't I need a conversion joint or something?

In my case I did not, just used the whole front ds that was in the truck, they will have the same u-joints.

So your saying the D60 front will take the stock u joint on my stock driveshaft? Or I'll need the 3/4 front driveshaft?

Alright one last question merc, im trying to order that 1410 weld yoke for the rear but I'm overseas so I can't measure the dia and wall thickness of my current one to buy the correct 1410.. Is there a constant spec on these or do they differ throughout other 96's?

Nope, I have ds here in the 3.5 and 4" range, as for wall thickness no way to tell until you cut the shaft.

I have the T-Steering in my ram and it was all bolt in and I LOVE it. Was the best thing I ever done to my truck.

Which year are you using the 98.5 or the 08 steering? You do know that there is a difference in the tre tapper right. You might also look into the recall that is going on with that steering setup.
