Ok I was replacing my rack and pinion on my 2007 ram 1500 2wd and didn't have my steering column connected to the rack and pinion and I took a break and my buddy got in and was turning steering wheel so I guessed at lining it up and I'm off I believe I can hear the wires or tape/wires for the air bags kinda brushing against something right behind the steering wheel when I go around corners also the airbag warning light is on please how can I fix this

Yes thank you I already broke the wires in the clock spring. For a job that wasn't very difficult I sure did screw it up. I thought I was being careful and smart about it when I first replaced the rack and pinion but obviously I wasn't I got everything lined up correctly now but need to get a new clock spring. At least I have a better understanding of it now
