Hi. Resurfacing an older thread (using the search bar before posting a new question). I have a 2016 Tradesman with an Aisin. I purchased a new OEM steering wheel complete with controls and the right side control includes the gear selector buttons (+ / -). Can I install this steering wheel without causing any issues? No problem for me if the shift buttons don't work (although would be cool if there's a way to make that happen)...main thing is I don't want to cause any issues with my truck. Any input/learning?
As stated they will not work. It is extremely simple to pull your old switch without the +/- and switch them out so you don't have buttons in your wheel that don't work but that's up to you.

I'm bringing this dead horse back to life again! lol

Has anyone ever done this along side the 8HP70 swap? I'm getting rid of the column shifter, going with the dial and a new steering wheel because I would like to believe there is a way to make the OEM buttons work with the 8HP70 trans and harness. Even if it requires replacing the in dash harness to make it happen. Already doing the ECM upgrade to the one with the brown plug. Would think all of those CAN bus signals and whatnot are already programed in along with the sales codes for the trans and whatever options need to be enabled to allow all this to work together.
