Stock Airbox with K&n or CAI on 5.7 Ram 1500?

What is the best option for an intake upgrade ?? Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi Its all stock But I plan to reprogram it and ad a cat back exhaust Soon !!

I'm not sure if a '12 uses the same airbox/airfilter as +13' trucks but if it does, use the lower part of the airbox, intake tube and airfilter from an EcoDiesel.

Or just put in a good(I used AEM) filter then add a 3" tube from bottom of airbox to behind bumper. I ran that for a while, flows good and seemed to pull a bit harder/longer. Added a screen to keep the rifraf out.
All told 30-40 dollars and some creative home depot shopping
