Is it true if I replace the stocks HU with a DVD/Sirus/Nav unit the OEM Sirus antenna can be used for the Nav piece also. My ORM unit is only Sirus and I am looking at replacing it with a full all in one unit. 2012 Ram 1500 and I just can’t do the OEM radio. Thanks for the input.

I think PAC makes an adapter for that. It may have also been iDataLink. Do some searching and plan it out before doing anything.

Thought i read you could trim the oem plug. You might still need an xm tuner.

Yes that is the one you need, that emjohn linked to. You will also need a SiruisXM tuner also. The tuner number is 300 something. I just did the whole swap out, to Pioneer HU, and SeriusXM tuner. Get a parking brake bypass, to wire in with the harnesses also, if you get a touch screen. You can get them on amazon.

It should of been a direct fit and worked...what happened when you plugge it up with the Adapter antennae

When I used the adapter the radio said something like no signal or something like that but as soon as I plugged in the new antenna it worked

The antennas can be finnicky. If you notice on the SXV300 there are notches on the side. This is to zip-tie the wire to, zip tie furthest away from the plug, and snug it tight. Then zip tie closest to the plug to put some stress and bend the antenna plug down a little. This will ensure you have no issues.
