Last night some low life broke into my truck and stole my Trinity tuner. Nothing else was stolen so he must have been interrupted... Is there a way to prevent the thief from using it? Also If I buy a new one, will I have to buy the Hemifever custom tune again?

If your truck was tuned when stolen (not returned to stock), its locked to your VIN. The thief could not use it, or resell it for very much $$$. Locked tuners up for sale are greatly reduced in value for obvious reasons.

If you talk to Sean (Hemifever), I am sure he will work with you, since you haven't changed trucks or anything that would affect the tune (so he doesn't have to do any extra work really). He is a very nice guy, and has always made sure I was taken care of.

This sucks. Sean is easy to work with, so I doubt he would charge you anything to send you a new tune if you need to buy a new tuner. Reach out to him direct because he will also probably sell you the tuner itself cheaper than normal since you have already paid for his tuning.

I will contact Sean, let's hope

Is the tuning the same on both Trinity and i2? I wasn't using the "racing" feature or gauges so I would save a bit of money with going with the i2.

Tuning is the same between the i2 and the Trinity. If you aren't using the monitor, then I would save the money and have him send you an i2 instead.

since your tuner was stolen, then (on a side note) does that mean you can never return to stock tune/restore the vehicle?

Worst case, I think a dealer should be able to flash his computer with a stock tune for an hour of labor or so.

The problem with that is he will have a dealership service record of having a flashed tune. May affect future warranty work if they choose to make claim the previous tune was the issue or contributed.

Report to police. It will probably end up in a pawn shop if you are unlucky enough to have them around you.

Since I have a 2015, I still have my stock ECU I can swap back in the truck.

ahh, that's right, for 2015, you have to swap ECU's. Anyway, hope it works out, one way or another. good luck

Sean might have your stock tune on file. When I got my first tune I sent my tuner my stock file to modify. Worth a shot.

Well I just sent back my unlocked ECU and new tuner to Diablo so they can fix it. Since the ECU wasn't returned to stock, the new tuner couldn't get the ECU back to stock and crash causing the truck to be in limbo mode

Good thing is that with the 2015+ you have the original ECU you can swap back in, so I can use my truck while I wait for the other one.
