I have a low chattering noise when I start accelerating from a stop, but it doesn't happen every time , just randomly, anyone have any ideas? Any suggestions on where to start looking?

Dat Cummins!
Not much info to go on with your question, but in my past experience with 3rd gens.... I would start with the catalytic converters and all the exhaust heat shields. If any of the shields are loose, they will rattle/chatter. If your catalytic converter is falling apart it too will rattle/chatter. Start with that and see where that takes you. I would then move on to the drive line. U-Joints, bearings, rear end, etc. Hope this helps.

I had something just like that the other day. Rocks got inside my dustshield and the rotor. Check there

if you feel a vibration in the rear of the vehicle when turning (feels like running over a rumble strip at low speed) your fluid in the differential needs to be changed. I just did mine this weekend for these symptoms, cleared it right up.
