swapping out 2016 stereo for 2018 stereo

I would like to get a stereo head unit that has apple car play in it. The 2018 ram stereo has apple car play. I wanted to see if I can pull the 2018 stereo and put it into my 2016 ram and if it would work.

I'm in for this info as well. I may not do it now, but in a few years when more hit the used market I want to do this.
