Some of these Rams have been having wear and metals especially when new. It might be a good idea to change your oil once with conventional for a run. When your engine is new, you want to encourage wear for the first 3000 or so miles, soften all the "sharp" edges. Synthetic oils discourage wear much more then conventional oil. So the traditional train of thought is not to switch over to synthetic for 3000 miles. Top tier oils even say on the bottle not to use for the first 3000 miles.

Can you? Yes you "Can" switch now and never know the difference. But if you want cheap insurance, do a quick change for another 1000 or so miles. Also, make sure to use Royal Purple filters with that oil, they are the best around.

Yeah strange enough I can't find the RP filter around here is k&n fine or would you suggest just hitting amazon to order one since I'll wait till 3k to switch and my oil won't go bad sitting in my shed for a couple months. And sorry for the dumb questions just haven't had a new car/truck in a long time and want to make sure it lasts.

Hit amazon up or order one from Amsoil, theres are 14 bucks but they have a 25k mile service interval IIRC.

Whatever you do, make sure the filter is synthetic. No paper filter with synthetic oils, very important.
I just turned 3000 miles and my Amsoil is going to go in this week.
