Found this old post on another forum. The op was worried about his Hemi clattering on a cold start after sitting at the airport for 3 weeks. Sounds very similar to concerns on this thread and sounds logical to me. The next time mine sits for a long time I'm going to try and prime the oiling system by putting the throttle to the floor ( I think this should shut off the injectors) and then crank the engine for a count of 5. Then turn the key off and try starting normally and see what happens. May work and may not. Maybe would take longer than a count of 5? I'm just guessing here and kinda brainstorming. I don't know how to prime these new engines with no distributor shaft hole to spin the oil pump with an electric drill.

If it makes noise just for a few minutes then goes away its because the lifters are dry and need to be pumped back up with oil, You should here what a hemi sounds like the first time you start a new motor you would think the whole motor is about to let go, but it is just because the lifters take some time to fill.

Notice the GM engines do not have a relief valve in the oil filter while the RAMs do.
GM uses a relief valve in the body of the engine which is more reliable in my opinion.
The Mopar and the Motorcraft oil filters have the relief valve in the base rather than the dome.
Some say the base type is better because loose particles on the outside of the filter media cannot re enter the engine when the relief valve opens usually upon start up with cold oil. With dome type the particles could potentially re enter the engine.
If I had only 33 psi hot idle condition oil pressure, would replace the oil filter.
Note: the base type relief valves are more expensive to make than the dome type. Read this fact somewhere, sorry no links folks.

Some or lets say most oil filters have a pressed metal flat spring, the wix uses a real coil spring to hold it in place not sure which others do but it sure looks like its a better system.

Just put in ford motorcraft full synthetic and a Stp XL filter. Had the ford motorcraft full snythetic sitting in the garage over a year and figured I should use that 100 bucks lol.

I even have free oil changes at the dealer but they like to take 2 hrs and use cheap conventional oil and filter

Flat metal spring preloads the filter element to the dome. Most oil filters with the integrated relief valve incorporate a compression spring and plunger in leaf spring with a rubber seal on the top of the filter element. This spring loaded plug could get mis aligned and then get stuck in a partially closed position.

When I cut the Mopar and RP filter open last year, they both had leaf springs. Not sure what that coil spring is for...
