Tailgate ajar warning light??

Does anyone know where the tailgate ajar warning light is on the 2019 Laramie? It says I have it and I see the symbol in the owner's manual but nothing shows up when its open.

U get a picture in the EVIC of an Open Tailgate and says: not 100% on verbage, Tailgate open

Also, the Picture of the vehicle in your evic near top will show a darkened symbol for tailgate open, same light that shows doors open, hood open, etc...

Ok thanks. I get the door open symbol but never the tailgate. I guess i'm gonna have to go back to the dealer and see why.

I'll go outside and recreate and show U EVIC if not too hot, LMAO.

WHAT I THINK U should see, as since U have a Laramie and a lot higher trim than my Bighorn. Items shown from EVIC display on a MY 19 Bighorn, 5.7, non-etorque.

Well since U have a higher level Laramie, I would think U would see it, but alas, FCA, maybe need a lil flash on OBD for your EVIC, but be careful, sometimes when THEY FIX it gets worse, just saying,,,,,,,,,,, I have this for EVIC: Cluster 7.0" TFT Color Display,,,

And these installed option packages: Customer Preferred Package 2TZ// Customer Preferred Package 25Z // Big Horn non-BSG Lvl 2 Equip. Group....
May depend upon Option packages, but heck I do not know.. I still think U should be seeing all above that I posted, but heck, I's just a Boird........................

Just speculating here, but I agree that it should be showing in his center screen like it is in yours. It would be real odd to remove something like that in a higher trim level. Also agree that it might cause more trouble than it's worth to have them fix.

Ok went to the dealer yesterday and they did not have a clue. I guess it's not a big deal but just knowing that I should have it and don't is bugging me.

Nope! When I had my truck at the dealer for an oil change I asked them to check into the warning light. They changed the oil and pulled the truck out and said there is a $195 diagnostic fee because I modified the truck, wires were spliced at the tailgate . I added an OPT7 LED tailgate light bar and connected it with a Curt trailer wire harness. Nothing was spliced and nothing was fixed because I did not pay the diagnostic fee. I may try another dealer once this Covid mess clears up.

Following. I'm VERY curious about this too. I have a brand new (two week old) 2021, and my tailgate flopped down on its own twice (scratched on the garage door - not super happy), and I'm getting no tailgate open indicator of any kind when testing to see what's going on...

This can be enabled using alfaobd. The dealer doesn't have it as an option it was explained to me on another forum. Long story short I have a Lonestar and enabled it in less than 5 min with alfaobd.

The warning is a PITA. I have to press OK to kill the illustration then I have to kill the cargo light out back. It needs this repeatedly throughout the day.

Since I often drive with the tailgate down (because of cargo), I don't need the annoying alerts.
