By coupling do you mean an adapter? I have a curt wiring adapter that plugs inline behind the bumper connector that allows for mods to plug into..no splicing of wires and no visible wires

Where did you install the tailgate light bar on the actual tailgate or the exposed part of the bed, I went to my truck to check for clearance and it seem right there.

Yes the Curt harness is the way to go!

It goes on the rear of the bed below the tailgate

Dont cameras have night mode? Just curious because I do not have one.

Ram's tailgate cameras do not have night infrared capabilities. Without a light source, the camera is basically useless. Try taking pics (or video) with your smart phone at night with the flash off and without any ambient light source. The backup camera will be worse.

I mounted mine over top section of spare tire access opening leaving access for tool. There is a thread where someone used home depot round magnets to stick to the truck and the light bar supplied clips attatch to magnets. I would have mounted that way but i installed mine b4 i saw post.

I recently installed the Putco light bar on my 2017 2500 Bighorn and love it. I used the Curt Trailer wiring harness to get the additional four pin connector. For the back up lights you will need to splice in the white wire for the reverse lights to the 7 pin center wire and the red wire from the Putco driver box to the reverse light wire from the 7 pin connector. Very Bright, looks like headlights when your backing up.

My 2012 Bighorn didn't come with a backup camera or the radio head unit that would work with one. I wish it had -so I got one from Canadian Tire- a wired one(much better than wireless) which came with its own 5" monitor. It has infrared for night vision and I was amazed how well it works in the dark and in glaring sunlight-brand name was "RELOAD" Then I hardwired a tailgate lightbar"recon brand I think. LOVE it and it improves the vision on the backup camera by about 12 more feet. I also like the extra turn signal indication and especially the bright brake lights. 5 years and o issues. Like another posted , I also added a Little silicone on the ends and around wiring just incase. Also make sure it is hardwired, some guys just plug it into the hitch receiver and leave the cover open year-round ,looks like **** and just asking for problems. Hope this helps--I am surprised I don't see more of these TG lightbars. They are a cheap enhancement and you don't even notice them until they light up!
