Hello,

I have a ‘24 Rebel GT. I want to install a Tailgate Light Bar, but looking at the area between the tailgate and rear bumper I’m wondering if that is possible.

On each side of the surface, where the bar should mount, there are moderately sized protrusion that push outward. Then in the middle is a cover with a wire loom exiting it. This looks like the electrical connections for the auto tailgate release.

Anyone install a tailgate light bar on a DT 1500 Rebel? You use a full length one of the two 18 inch model offered by PUTCO?

Update;

I went with the PUTCO dual 18inch light bars for the rear. If you use the trailer plug connect splitter, you can do it all plug and play with no cutting or splicing of wires.

There are times.
Specially with a truck, plowing, hooking up trailers, boat ramps, deciding that 2 track is too rough, positioning the truck to get a couch in the tailgate...yeah, if you use a truck as a truck, you do plenty of driving backwards

I usually don't like those light bars and think they look cheap and/or tacky. That set up looks really nice, though. I think you changed my mind on the concept. :D

I put this on my 2021 1500. Same protrusions so if you stand there staring at it, yes it looks like i didnt put it on straight. But there is no other way, just driving down the street though you really dont notice it and it looks pretty normal
