The TC is built specific to your truck with the mods you have and plan on getting so I would look to do all the mods you want and can do first. My TC is still sitting in my garage cause I haven't had time to put it in yet but as soon as I do the only other thing I need is a Trinity with custom tune to strengthen the mods potential, this is just my .02

Ive driven my buddys truck with 3.55s and mine with 3.92 and tbo I didnt really notice much of a difference, and we have similar mods to the truck otherwise. Id go with the tc over the new gears, but if you dont already have a tuner, id go with that first :)

Edit - just re read you have a 13 lol, TC all the way!.

Definitely go with the converter. Also, you don't have to have your full list of mods before buying the converter. We have built so many of these that we know how to set them up so that you have room to grow into the converter. Small boltons wont affect how we set the converter up...the only mods you can add that will make drastic changes in the converter's performance are a cam, boost, or nitrous.

I have a dumb questions - Anyone worried about changing the TC on a 50,000 2013 truck and warranty issues?

The tq converter is welded shut, so the dealership would have to cut it open to see that anything had been done to it. Only reason I would worry about the warranty was if they had to replace the transmission for whatever reason, and they swapped your built converter out for a stock unit.

The converter alone wont cause any transmission trouble though as long as it is setup correctly and you are running a quality converter. There are hundreds of 4th gens with these already, and the only transmission failures I know of are from guys that received bad transmission tuning or the guys with boost.
