Hello all. I am going to install some longtube headers and was wondering if there is a preference for studs or bolts? I know studs would most likely be better but not looking to make it harder to install with any clearance problems trying to get the nuts on the studs. Or just use bolts. Also if studs or bolts, which brand have you used like ARP or another brand? Are O2 cable extenders needed too? Thanks all.

Use the bolts that come with the headers and get yourself a set of Remflex 6022 gaskets.if the headers didn't come with them.

I installed a set of 1 3/4 “ ARH longtubes and I used the hardware supplied with the headers.
Bolts were used.
The headers came with 02 extensions, bolts and gaskets , but not remflex. So they were shelved for another project.
It is about 20 ft lbs . But you will not get a torque wrench on much , no room.
Short wrench’s cranked.
This was about four or five years ago.h

Remflex for the win .

I puchased ebay headers ( I know, get what you paid for) and they came with some cheap looking stainless bolts (if they are even stainless) and I don't feel like they are good enough to use. I was looking at these

ARP Header Bolt, 8 mm x 1.25 Thread, 1.181 in Long, Hex Head, Washers Included, Chromoly, Black Oxide, compatible with Mopar Gen III Hemi, Set of 16 from Amazon. $60 for the set. I think these would be better than the ones that came with the headers. I am going to order the gaskets from amazon that you posted even if I don't order the bolts, thanks for the sugestion.

You only torque headers to at most 20 lb-ft,so you don't need a super hard bolt. ARP's are a bit over kill, buy them if you want, but i'd spend that money on 02 extensions if the headers didn't come with them.
