Terrible headlights

So I just bought a brand new 2012 Ram 1500 express last month in AZ and drove it up to AK. Really the only thing I've noticed that bugs me a lot is that the headlights are terrible and the high beams are even worse. Anyone else hear of this issue? I've skimmed the forums and haven't found too much on this. I want to put some HID's and maybe a whole new headlight assembly in but noticed that it isn't the easiest piece to get to. Any suggestions?

Cool, checked em out. looks good! there's a lot I want to do with the truck but the first thing I want is to change out the headlights and then the deck.

That is the biggest complaint. I put Silver Star Bulbs in mine and that made a slight differance. Then I put on the Mopar Fog light kit and that helped alot.
I am still planning on getting HID's though.

The actual assembly comes out pretty easily though. The instructions are on here somewhere.

maybe its me, but with the fog/driving lights, I have alot of light on mine...now with them off, they do stink...but I drive all the time with mine on...and +1 for JJ's headlights

it was a big complaint for me also. the light output is horrible. I got a set of JJ custom lights with 55W 5000k projectors and it is an amazing upgrade.

The lights are TYC lights - which are a great aftermarket replacement. They are typically used in body shops for crash replacements.

To use these on your truck, just unplug your current lights and plug the new ones in.

One thing to remember, in a typical quad setup, the lows stay on when the highs are turned on. When you swap from duals to quads, this doesn't happen. Just an FYI!

What does it have, an adapter plug to turn the single lamp socket into a double?

the stock duals are H13, the quads have a plug that splits inside the light, but the end is a H13 connector. VERY easy swap.

Got to agree that the headlight power has got to be a major drawback on the Rams. I drive mainly in the city, so it isn't a big deal, but when I get out in the country, I really notice it. I might be checking with JJ on a simple upgrade.
