got under the truck today just to ......well look around, see the new coil spring suspension, the new shiney frame. Well i start to notice stuff, the first thing was the front and rear drive shafts, completey coated in rust (just surface) but ive seen this on alot of stuff and i think its cause its just bare metal. then i noticed my rear axle were the welds were had surface rust one em. So i wire brushed a little here and there and touched up all the spots.
What realy gets me though is the body mounts, the ball joint bolts, even the tie rod ends. all covered in surface rust. Just makes you think how is this thing going to last, or be pulled apart years down the line if its only a week old and the hardware is starting to rust. any one else here with a new ram notice this
the only other question is on bolth sides of the frame (outside) under the front doors, are these 2 round doughnut shaped (i think there lead) weights. on like a rubber bushing. and there just bolted to the frame, but they flex on the mount. WTF are these for?
