Have another ? can you put the new style thermostat in hot water to see if it working properly, like we used to with older t-stats tia 2018 ram 6.4

Yes they still need hot coolant to open,same as the old bi-metal thermostats did,only now they use a wax pellet/motor to control the opening and closing temps.
