I am thinking about coming back to Ram but I'd like to get some opinions from recent owners on their 25s and 26s to see what quirks and issues you have. Let's be honest, every brand, every model has some quirks, it's what the industry is today.

I had a 2014 Big Horn and loved it. I then upgraded to the 2019 Big Horn with the OR package and Level 2. I loved that one too but I was the early adopter, it was the model before they changed some "things" to achieve a higher crash test rating as Stelantis stated if you recall that. That truck had some issues, if I would drive into a sweeping curve at say 45mph, I had to fight the steering wheel back to straight, kind of scary. It would also randomly brake in the snow because it saw snowflakes? They at least fixed the ac vent issue that was present in my 2014, others were not so lucky. I honestly just didn't feel safe in it and I moved onto another truck quickly.

I miss Ram though. The Ram Big Horn with a 5.7 OR and L2 is simply just me. With incentives and my current trade, I know I can get a great deal right now and I like that the Ram is back to a 10yr/100k warranty. I am hoping this could be a truck I can keep for 10 years or so. There is a dealer near me that has the exact model optioned exactly how I want it, I could be a buyer tomorrow......

Let's hear the bad!

I never was a MOPAR fan, ever. Last November, I purchased my first RAM due to the lack of reliability from other competitive manufacturers in the same class. The 10yr/100k warranty sealed the deal for me. So far, the one dealership near me which performed a recall of the trailer tow module, has been dependable. Summary: if you have a reputable RAM dealer near you and something that appeals to you, I wouldn't hesitate. I haven't regretted my purchase yet and don't hesitate to recommend the product. Go for it! Don't have any bad.

It sounds like electrical gremlins are the leading complaints for the 2025/26 models because they're under a new electrical architecture than the 2024 & earlier models.

Last fall i went from a ‘17 big horn hemi to a ‘26 big horn hemi.

The ‘17 was a great truck to me. Put 153k miles on it in roughly 9 years, never had a single issue with it, other than many sets of brakes lol.

Ive got 17k miles on this new one and so far shes been great. Its such a pleasure to drive. This one is a little more dazzled up then my last one with the big screen, panoramic sunroof, off road package, 3.92 gears etc. I think the big horn is a great middle of the road package, not too fancy but still really nice.

The new truck does feel a bit slower to me for whatever reason, but plenty peppy enough. And the exhaust tune…its perfect! Certainly could do without the stupid etorque but that wasnt an option with the hemi (sounds like it soon will be though).

Like ya say, these days you are damned if you do damned if you dont with any of the manufacturers. Just pray to the powers at be and pull the trigger!

If you are looking for the bad info, just do some simple searches. Zillions of horror stories out there about the new ones. If you are the worrisome type, and you do searches, chances are you wont buy one.

Yes, auto manufacturers are much like government, keep "fixing it" until it no longer works properly!

Lots of electrical problems with the newer trucks and in some cases repeating over and over. Parts are slow to come in and trucks sit in the dealer for months waiting for a fix. Who knows what the overall chances are of a bad one - forums tend to magnify problems. One thing seems valid though is that all truck makers are having problems.

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but I’m a 6 guy now and not the 8. I just test drove both engines and the 6 was just smoother in shifting. Since they’re eliminating etorque next year, I don’t know that I want to be sitting on an etorque model 5 years from now and having a mechanic tell me it’s junked and we can’t get parts.

Damn Rebel got my attention though. Ugh.

Have been driving for 55 years. I have owned hundreds of different vehicles of all makes and types in that time, but there was always a Mopar or two in the mix. I currently have two, a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 5.7 that is my wife's daily driver and a 2021 2500. That said, if I was buying a new pickup today, given Stellantis is teetering on the edge of Bankruptcy, it would not be a Ram.

Long waits for parts, multiple examples of warranty claims denied, having to fight to get them approved, car in shop for months wanting for repairs, proliferation of lousy dealers, my local area still has two good ones, and on it goes. If I needed a HD, I would look at Ford or GM, 1500 I would buy Toyota for sure.

They never said they were eliminating etorque for all models. The only model Tim Kuniskis mentioned (besides the 5.7 Rumble Bee) that they are eliminating etorque from is the Express. I wouldn't bank on them removing it from other models for 2027.

OP: The only "bad" I would mention is that all 5.7 Hemi's for 2026 have etorque. Most people haven't experienced problems with the system, but those who have seem to lose their truck for weeks or months waiting for replacement parts. Since you can't drive the truck if the MGU or 48v battery module fails, you might want to consider not getting the Hemi yet if you're at all concerned with that possibility.

At dealership now. I mentioned that damn Rebel. 20% off MSRP. 1k less than what I wanted on my trade but another dealer was the exact same on the trade. Still have to sign the docs……. ;) but I already received the whole intro and connect emails and texts. Yay.

A few things here the EPS (electric power steering) had some recalls and drive belt problems and corroded circuit board and poor electrical connections.

Here's how I handle things when I catch my head thinking to much about something. Screw it, go for it, deal with the BS as it comes, because there's always some BS to deal with no matter what decision is made! :peace:

It's called the ParkSense system there are 6 in the front and 4 in the rear, they're called ultrasonic proximity sensors when backing up it would see something like a leaf or snowflakes and it would apply the E Brake; there are upfitter switches on the lower dash to turn the system off/on.

That’s pretty much what I did I suppose. I wanted out of my mid-size and got taken by the Rebel looks. Price was great though I thought.

I’ll post some pics later.

Happy Motoring!
