Always try and solve this through the dealer first, always rule out exhaust bolts as well, then if it is lifters after you have done all you can, redline 5w30 with a syn filter like RP20-820 is all you can do lubrication wise. That is proven best at quieting lifters but there is no guarantee. First rule out dealer help and bolts, then consider a different lubrication strategy. Bottom line follow the science and go to pure science first before even considering junk science. Junk science would be oil thickners and gimmicks like ceramics, sometimes those might work as well, but the juice may not be worth the squeeze. If redline kills your tick the only downside is cost, your engine will be bathed in perfect lubrication with no other downside, proven here at ram forum with constant use since 2011 with multiple uoa's to back up with multiple members. 5w30 for the 5.7 and 5w40 for the 6.4 are the best choices, there are many reasons for this, they simply use a better base oil then even 10w30 or 10w40, it is in the tech sheets.
Why reldine works when other oils don't, ester based polar molecules and survive heat in those out of tolerance locations, which is hemi tick, branched chain pao base oil that also is better then mineral oils in those locations, super high moly that plates with heat, time, and pressure that is present in a hemi tick condition, high zddp that can also help. It is no other reason, it has nothing to do with a name or fancy bottle or business interests, in fact many people are also getting relief with other close formulations such as additives like lubegard biotech and mos2. The tens of guys who run around this place saying this stuff all the time are the same guys who killed their ticks with this very formula that killed ticks that other oils left behind, just the facts. If you have newer oil try 15 ounce lubegard biotech, nothing to loose. If you have a future oil change try redline 5w30 once, you owe that to yourself, it's not that big of deal to try.
