What do you fellas like for brake pads? I've got 60k miles on my R/T and it's due for at least front pads. I don't need anything crazy, just want something that's not gonna coat the 22s in brake dust and doesn't make noise.

If you like the feel of ceramics, the mid range Autozone are good, no dust, with lifetime warranty. Wear them out, take the pads to the store and they happily replace them no problem. Their rotors are also pretty good at this time. Several of the better brake shops in this area are now using them as they don't get return issues.

I wonder how many people keep their vehicle long enough to return a set of lifetime warranty brakes for another free set? I know I never have. I always just do my research to try and find ones that won't rain brake dust. I generally have got rid of the vehicle before it needed another brake job.

I have twice on two different vehicles, mine usually are 10+ years old before I even start thinking about replacing, and stop/go driving is hard on brakes :). Not saying autozone is he best, but they do keep track of your purchase so you don't need to be fumbling finding 5 year old receipts, and their data base is nation wide. Places like Advanced only seem to keep store copies. So if you need to replace a warrantied battery in Albany, and you bought the battery a year ago in Providence... you are out of luck without a receipt.

I would get something that has low dust. Pay the extra money if you care anything about not having dirty wheels.

I am going to have the pads on mine replaced soon if another shop confirms they need it (dealership told me they needed replacing soon). Bought the Raybestos Enhanced Hybrid pads (combo of semi-metallic and ceramic), has really good reviews. The rotors are thick enough still I don't think they need replacing (used a caliper, they are still above minimum thickness). Approximately 47k on my truck right now.
