Hey guys looking for some help on these oem led tail lights I just picked up. The previous owner said they look like they have a coat of tint on them. Is there a way to remove the tint? Any tricks? I probably won't use them unless I can get the tint off. For $135 shipped I figured I'd take a chance on them since I wanted to upgrade my non led tail lights.

Maybe some paint thinner.....if not, I'll take them off your hands... :)

I thought about that but I think the paint thinner might screw up the plastic

Try wet sanding on a corner with 1000-2000 grit

Solvent or abrasion.

Abrasion will look awful if you don't put in the effort or time.

Solvent would most likely eat up the plastic.

Found this on YouTube.

Looks like it will work. There's not a heavy amount of tint on them so we will see.

Wetsand them with 1500 grit until all of the tint is removed. Clean, dry and mask them, then respray them with a quality clear coat. If wanted you can then wet sand them again and polish to remove any remaining orange peel. They will look like new.
