I just see this post ,so a bit late, WE in Sask last all the snow last couple weeks, we did get about 1 inch last night.
I have never pulled one of these out, but I do know you want lots of heat when messing with plastic clips and connectors.
Ih you want to mess in the cold , you could use a heat gun to warm things up a bit.
I agree with the "it to damn cold " the days.

Have you tried the Hi Tec approach yet, whack it with a stick ?
screw driver handle for the techy guys.
Ha! Ha! I remember those winters! So cold that when you went behind the barn for a pee, you just created another icicle.
Now, in cloudy northern Ontario, not as cold but SNOW! Just the month of March, we had 137 centimeters, that translate to 4 1/2 feet.
The old whack with a screwdriver handle sometimes worked wonders!

we don't usually get huge amount of snow, but last week it snowed off and on all week and winds where 75-90km. for 2- 3 days , east side of Sk got more , but as happens this year, it rains first , then freezes and snow all night, so all the semi's park in the ditch.
Cent/N alberta just got hit hard . I just sit in the house with coffee.

I remember snow covering the telephone lines when I was younger, and horse was the school bus. Wood heater in the one room school house ( it is still looked after),
1.5mile ride, The horse knew the way. Out house was fun in winter.
Snow day, what the hell is that about these days, what a rip off.

I remember some pretty bad weather as a kid growing up on the prairies. Was going to say that I had to walk uphill both ways, to and from school but, there was nary a hill to be found!
How flat is it? Unless people see the prairies like us old dogs, they don't really understand. An example, the distance between Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg is about 50 miles, interestingly, the field elevation difference is about 50 feet.
I'm guessing that is why Winnipeg and that area floods so bad.
I liked the rolling hills in Saskatchewan, should have taken the job offer in Saskatoon.:(

Lots of "drifting" because of the flat open prairies.

Seems like all the drifts are on my driveway ? We did walk up hill both ways as there was a low spot 1/2 mile up the road :laughing1: .
Not far from Sask Landing/ south sk river.

I grew up in what they call the Interlake Region of Manitoba. Flatter than ____ on a platter!
Funny how that drifting always seems to end up where it is needed least. I remember the drifting during the winters back in the '80s. Not a lot of snow so the topsoil was blowing off the fields. Around Carman MB, I remember seeing the ditches full of topsoil. Some enterprising folks decided they would sell it for top soil in the spring. It was so full of chemicals that nothing would grow in it.

Before I went back farming after the 9-5 with no pay BS, I had a Radio , tV repair shop and before that tec at Radio station, ( I hated that job)
So played with quite a bit of stuff like that, But I have never had one of mine open. Cleaning up and repairing boards is not that difficult if you can get the stuff apart.

Soldering relays in a hiding place is rather stupid, but I guess the engineers figured nothing ever goes belly up ( on warranty) so it all good.

A ps , I was thinking fuel pump relay, but rereading , looks like that is not the code you have, but same type of problem I guess.

My truck locked me out again yesterday, happens about once a year, but now I make sure I have the little key still in the fob to open the door, after that it always works fine
It is always at Wal-Mart, guess it must be the class of cars it meets at that joint.

A few days ago it was a sand storm in town as the city don't use salt, they just spread sand on the ice, so in the spring there is sand/ light gravel/dirt every where and 90km winds make for bad sand/ dirt storms.

Back in day I never used large amounts of spray, like I see these days, where stuff is sprayed before harvest, That is why swathers where invented.

I could get it apart without much problem. I'm not unfamiliar with electrical repairs but this time, at my age, I'd just rather pay someone to do it. I have all the equipment, but just not the motivation.
I used to travel for work through NW Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. I remember the dust storms. I also remember and MISS the summertime Thunderstorms. They were always a beautiful free light show.
I remember once flying my old Cessna from South Western Manitoba back to Winnipeg and there was a storm south east of Winnipeg, it was rather neat to look down in the distance and see lightning flashing. I made sure I gave that storm a wide berth.

Soldered in? Before proceeding, would you be able to post a picture of what you are trying to replace? I want to ensure we are talking the same thing (and that I'm not steering you wrong).
I have been under the hoods and under various vehicles for about 50 years. I'm ok with part identification. Thanks!

Fair enough, I was speaking more to the fact that "I" may have misidentified what you were speaking about and therefore, any of "my" previous statements may have been erroneous.

No worries, sometimes the written word can lead us astray wen a direct spoken discussion would be perfectly clear.

Back to the TIPM for a moment .......... I found a shop in Toronto that says they can fix my TIPM. I'll keep the contact private until I get mine back to see if it works.
I sent it last Wednesday, it arrived Thursday and I got a notice this morning that it was ready along with an invoice for $350.24 which covered the repair, the relay replacement cleaning, resealing, mail costs and tax. It should be back be Wednesday according to Canada Post.
A heck of a lot cheaper than MAKS or Circuit Board Medics.
AND ....... In Toronto, Canada.

Well, I got my TIPM back today. Looks good!
As I said previously, I would wait until it is back to give out the name and here it is:

AE Auto Solutions
51 Pendrith ST
Toronto Ontario.

The turn around on their service was fast. Prices reasonable, I would definitely use them again

EDIT: I put the TIPM back on and tried to start the truck ............ NOTHING Not even ONE warning light! So, hold off before getting too excited with finding a repair spot in Canada.
I'll report back when I get a resolution!

OK, the verdict is in, the vehicle starts, runs and sounds good (except for the lifter tick) Only issue is ...... check engine light and FC U0121 communications code. Wasn't there previously so I'm going to do some digging.
Over all, I think the outfit is ok.

I'd clear the code and see if it pops back up. Sometimes replacement causes codes to trip

Already done that, it is a hard code and some other things keep popping up so I'll need to dig further.
Ok, the final verse in the saga ...... the J7 30 amp fuse decided that it had had enough and blew! Replaced fuse, runs like a singer sewing machine complete with clack clack noise.

Interestingly, all my driveability problems have seem to have gone away. I took it for about a 10 mile run, no hesitations, no popping back in the throttle body, throttle blade angle and MAP reading seem to have become normal again.
The TIPM is an ugly device for creating problems it would seem. And the worst part is, the diagnostic system won't show.

So, it runs ok now except for the lifter noise.
I'm still chasing the poor fuel economy though. Can't really put a finger on that problem yet. I'm noticing it also seems to lack power, it doesn't have the power that it once had. Nothing is "jumping out" at me but it is hard to drive and monitor test equipment.
