I have a 14MY club cab RAM and noted one day when cleaning under the seats the jack was loose. There is a part of the jack that slides onto a retainer and a hold down bolt that you see when you remove the cover on the side of the seat to access the jack. I'll take the bolt out and install the jack properly, right. No the bolt will not budge. I can't get my tire jack out of the vehicle. Glad I'm not on the side of the road with a flat tire. Long story, sorry but I had to cut the bolt out because the nut, welded to the floor pan, broke free. Anyone else have the same problem. I live in the salt belt states and being the design left a significant amount of the bolt exposed to the elements there is a lot of corrosion.

That mod works for both 1500 and 2500 trucks.

I think I'll just remove mine & reinstall it from the bottom with wingnut under truck. I will seal it with some silicone caulk and put a 6mm nut & lock washer under seat then get a 6mm wingnut or regular nut & washer to secure the jack. I just don't feel like going 10 miles to my dealer to order the new parts then have to drive back to get them when my local home depot is 2 miles from me and there's an Autozone in the same lot so hopefully 1 of them has the nuts.

Just checked mine, no problem, no rust at all. So much for my idea of using the existing bolt threaded from below, it is only half threaded, so it won't be long enough. I will get a bolt to replace that hopefully at home depot, if not then I'll order the dealer part. Also there is another nut about 8" towards the front of the seat underneath that has no bolt in it so I will get a short bolt to seal that too. There is a hole in the carpet above that under the seat and what looks like a piece of rubber tape sealing it but I figure it can't hurt to plug it.

I purchased the revised parts and it is worth the money, definitely cheaper than calling roadside service unless it’s free!
