I am almost at the point to where I need to upgrade the tires for my 2018 6.4 hemi 4x4 285/60r20. The oem Firestines have been okay, but I am seeing what may work better. Based on my research, I am torn between the Continental Terraincontact A/T and the Cooper Discoverer at3 Xlt. What I am wondering is how each tire affected anyone's mpgs. I really don't concern myself too much with mpg because I use the truck to tow, I just don't want to sacrifice range towing.

I have a 2017 Ram 1500 4wd Longhorn crew cab. I run the Cooper AT3 XLT's in LT275-65/20.
I'm on my 2nd set and I'm sticking with them. I haven't noticed any significant impact to mpg. I run about 75 mph on the highway which in and of itself hurts mpg. I get mid 19's to 20 mpg highway. That's about what I got with the stock Goodyear SRA's. The handling with the Coopers is much improved. The truck corners nice and flat vs. the SRA's which did a deep knee bend down into corners-kind of squishy. I towed an agricultural seeder from NJ to NH & back on the Coopers. About 5K pounds. Towed like a champ and my mpg didn't go below 16mpg. The average for the trip was just under 17 mpg.
You'll like the Coopers IMO.

I'm running the Cooper AT3's on my 1500. I lost about 1 mpg compared to the stock SRA's. Very happy with them so far with about 8k on them.

Thank you for the replies. The Coopers were the ture I was leaning toward. The stock tires are down to 5/32 at 22,000 miles so I definitely want something that will last a little longer.

I ran the original Goodyears for around 45k, replaced them with Michelin Defenders and am happy with them.

I am trying to stay with an all terrain because I do tow my toyhauler off road a few times a year, as well as the wife and I like to explore trails on our trips.
