I am going to be ordering new tires for my truck here within the next few days. I have a 2003 Ram quad cab short box 4x4. Right now I am running 265/70r17.but would like to go to a mud tire and larger. I am curious as to what the tallest and widest tire I can fit under it. I do plan on a 1.5 inch block lift in the rear and a 2" lift in the front before I throw on the new tires.

Any help would be appreciated. Also, i don't want to completely fill the fender-wells with rubber - I still would want some space for the tire to travel.

I'm thinking about going with the BFG T/A KO 315/70r17. Will that fit with no rubbing issues on a leveled out 1500 4x4?

Height wise I think you would be fine. Width wise I'm not sure. But someone should be along that knows for sure before too long.

they will rub if you have stock wheels. i have 4.53 backspacing on my wheels with 35/12.50/17 and they rub a little bit at full lock when you hit a small bump. i am leveled out in the front.(about 2" in front)
