Hey guys I have a 2017 ram sport 4wd crew cab and looking to replace the factory Goodyears, I do mostly city driving and live in south Fla. I was a nitto guy but see lots of brands cheaper than them. I used to like the nt421q, I also got the uniroyal tiger paw for my wife's car, cheap good tires. Wondering what do you guys use. I'm not looking at nitto grappler something similar to the factory Goodyear that's good in the rain.

Everyone's just gonna tell you their favorite tires, but we're not all in the same climate as you nor have the same expectations :)

I can tell you my own experience with Continental TerrainContact A/T on my 1500, when I lived down South they were excellent on wet, silent on the highway, plenty of traction on modest dirt and sand and seem like they're never going to wear out. All good so far!

But then I moved North and they're really not suited to snow and ice at all. I'd absolutely buy these tires again in warm climates but when the time comes for new ones (probably age before the tread wears out) I'm definitely getting something that does better below freezing.

In your case you mentioned price though; Conti's aren't cheap! They might be a bargain in cost-per-mile considering how slow they seem to be wearing but they're pricey up front.

Maybe another owner who lives in Florida can comment on what's good in that specific climate.

Michelin Defender LTX are an excellent tire for road use. Pricey, but you'll get the life out of them, quiet, and good ride. I prefer an AT tire so they're not on my truck. I had the General Grabber HTS on my old Montero Sport, they were very good at their price point.

I've had Michelin Defender LTX M&S in 275/55-20 and absolutely loved them. Great in everything except 2WD uphill sideways wet grass (where I live). Still, in 4Wd I never got stuck, not even close. The Nitto Terra Grappler II in 275/60-20 and Falken Wildpeak AT3W in 305/55-20 I've had as well, and all three are great. Picks ur looks and picks ur price....

If you have a Discount Tire store around you, or their other name (I forget), you might look at their "house brand" tire, Pathfinder. I had their Pathfinder All Terrain tire as my last set and it was a really good tire. It's made by Hankook specifically for Discount Tire stores. It had a 60k mile rating, and I just swapped them out at 70k miles. Probably could have got more out of them, but we're taking a trip to the mountains today for a week and didn't want to push it.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure they have a highway tire. You might look into it. I can only speak on the AT tires I had, but I liked them. Would've bought them again, but I went up in tire size and it wasn't offered in the size I wanted.

See if this works for you... https://www.discounttire.com/tires/brands/pathfinder-catalog

The Michelin and the Pathfinder are great highway tires. The Pathfinder is more capable off road and in deep snow.

Had a set of them in 285/70/17 on my old silverado and wasn't impressed at all by them. Snow traction was poor and in the summer, during my commute home, they'd get so hot the rubber got sticky to the point they were picking up gravel off the roads. Inflation pressures were high enough to not cause uneven wear, and since they were only a p-rated tire. They maxed out at 44 psi.
