First time posting I was thinking of swapping the stock tires and rims on my 2024 Rebel (18) to. 20 inch rim from a 2022 Laramie , will I have any issues wit fit?

Don’t do it Len don’t do it. Side wall is part of the suspension. If you live in an area that gets lots of potholes rubber band tires aren’t that great. I have a set of 20s in the back yard from the kids truck 3 good 1 wrecked I told him it’s not a good idea in Edmonton but did he listen no. Fricken kids oh well his money. And they look dumb imho

Don't do it. Moved from 32" on 20" rims to 32" on stock 17" steel rims. It was a cost decision at the time, needed tires and someone was selling cheap on FB mounted ballanced and decent tread. Turned out a blessing in disguise, rides way better. Now in a position I'm getting aftermarket 17" rims with nee tires.

I have 20s but I have a 2500. I agree with the others, on a 1500 size, I'd stick with 18s.

The rim fit won't be a problem, but the tire size is different.


You would probably want to up the tire size on the 20" rims to a 285/60/20 to match the size on your truck now.

No idea about Laramie rim/tires. But I put 20inch Rims on 2021 Rebel week after I got it. Bigger tires as well. No issues.
Just need to adjust speedo.

You can add bigger tires to a point. Like 35x12.5 up from 33s on a pw. I’m not sure what it would be for a 1500. Probably 33s so you could play with rim and tire size a bit. But I would try to keep as close to the sidewall size as you can

Many of the 1500s come from the factory with 275/60R20 tires/rims. That's what I have on my 2014 Express CC. That works out to a 33" diameter so I'm not sure what the concern is. I do agree that with the same outside diameter tire, the ride will be better with a smaller wheel. Plus it will probably be lighter.

My summer tires, on my OEM 20" rims are LT295/65R20 (equivalent to a 35" tire) and they fit great. Plus I get some added height, too with them.

I do however, have 5100 Bilstein's all around with the fronts set to 2.1" raised. All using the stock front and rear springs, and the stock UCA's as well.

Zero rubbing, and a smooth ride.

I kick it down to my 17" steelies in the winter with dedicated winter tires (Blizzak DM-V2's)

Stock for stock, you're looking at over an inch difference in diameter, smaller for the Laramie. That translates to a wheel speed change and reduction in ride quality. Like crash68 said, you'll probably want larger than OE Laramie tires. Tire ply will also make a difference in ride quality- more plys=stiffer sidewall. Most stock tires are not LT (C,D,E,F). Things to consider.

I have a 2500 and couldn't wait to get rid of the 20's it came with. Dropped them to 18's and the ride was night a day difference. Much smother, didn't feel every pebble sitting int he road. I would say, dont do it
