Hey all. Last week I was back home I tried lighting them up for the boys. What a ******* embarrassment this truck was. Part of me died a bit. I figured with slightly wetted mud tires and 4.56 gears with the 91 SC tune I would at least get a squeak but nothing. Just exhaust noise and humiliation. So I ask this. To any of the 03 boys when you did the TMR mod would the truck light them a bit better? It seems when I get on the gas and the brake the engine just kinda gets limp **** and does nothing. It will hit like 22 or 2300 and just sit there. In the rain if I just giver from a dig it will light em decently just wondering of the TCM sees brake input and goes what the **** and dumps the timing outta the motor. I no longer plan on camming my 03. Too hit and miss and I need nearly perfect reliability as I already have a hot rod to play with. It would just be nice if my truck was not the laughing stock among the 6.0 chevy guys who have all kinds of tuning and after market mod support. I'm safe from the Fords. Well till their new engines are out.

Any help or is it new truck shopping time?

Brett,
That's sad, do the TMR mod and you should give them a show. Traction is a problem for Red but I'm running 30.5" tall tires and not a lot of wieght. Good luck....

if i had an 03 tm delete would be the first thing i did. its free and if you dont like it plug the wire back in. cut it snd put spade connectors on, that way you can disable or enable as you please. lucky 0-3

i dont have a tmr at all so lucky me
and technically you could throw a switch on it so you could keep the functionality in the rain and snow and still be able to do smoke shows when you want to

yea do the TMR delete, worked wonders on my old '03. But again, I had 31's on it too. Put in a tq converter and with the 4.56's you'll have a smoke show.

i think you misunderstand what exactly the tmr delete does and how it affects the driving. its not a big difference at all. theres no need for a switch. just cut the wire and you're done.

30" tires, 2800 TC, 4:10 gear the weight reduction of a roll pan and believe me traction becomes a problem. It is great fun! lol

i dont think it will make that much of a difference... so you cant even brake torque with the 4.56's??
i'll never blow the dough on them if i still cant burn the tires..

He's an exception and I have a feeling it has to do with the topper, then again frog can spin 35s and he doesn't have 4.56.

You need new tires. Good tires don't slip like that unless you're gunning it while turning. And that tune only adds a few ponies...not enough to make a huge impact.

i know about the tires but the dyno numbers for torque are outstanding,
and reach anything above stock will spin the tires at 1/4 throttle remember i have the 5.9

On occasion in perfect circumstances I can get both treads spinnin with my 5.9L, I can't imagine a Hemi not being able to burn em even with big tires. I think your holding the brake WAAAAAY to hard.

I have no problem out of my 5.9. Now my tires are stock size but they are mud terrains and I can smoke them like an SOB. On top of that I leave Posi. tehe. But Sounds like the tmr is givin ya fits.

Now I don't have an 03 so I might be way off but doesn't TMR only affect shifts?

The same thing your superchips does for you as far as adjusting torque management, except the TMR delete is either on or off. Theres no way to adjust sensitivity like you can with the new Superchips. When you cut or pull that wire it simply removes all torque management. Its not possible for the truck to react poorly to it, because it really doesnt do anything except prevent the TCM (tranny control module) from reducing torque (which is what torque management does... reduce torque to make smoother shifts). The TMR delete is really only noticeable at WOT for the 1-2 shift.
