Long story short, I have to find a trailer brake controller that I can put on my Ram 1500 in a couple of days. Any options? The install will need to be quick, I prefer not to be splicing wires, are there any plug and play options? And to what exactly would I plug into? I dont have trailer brake controller from factory

Prodigy P3 would be my choice for any situation. You can get the harness that is plug and play for your truck, no flash needed. Do you already have the 7 pin connector on the back of your truck? If not, than that is a different issue. Will need to do some wiring then.

Your truck will already have the connector on the back, and it will be wired up all the way to the dashboard - any decent brake controller PLUS an adapter harness for it (Amazon has them) should work just fine.

Or just get the dealer to install a factory one, not a big deal to do in most cases if you already have the factory hitch and wiring. They just install it and tell the computer it is there.

Please make sure you reply back after install and give a review of it and the installation, so others (maybe me even) will have an idea of ease of installation and functionality.

You had a towing emergency, and some heartburn about getting one installed in time.

Perhaps having one installed, just in case, would be worth the price.

I went OEM. I like the seamless integration with the switch panel, instrument cluster and radio.

I can change brake settings in the radio and see the controller output on the instrument cluster.

Install it yourself and either activate it with alphaobd or have the dealer activate it.
