I was wondering if anyone had any info on how to disassemble the center console on a 2015 tradesman single cab, with the 2/3 seats. I need to fix a short in the aux port, so either how to pop that out, or the entire plastic housing would be appreciated. Attached picture of the type I'm working with, since all info I can find is for the car style console.

Been 10 years or better since i had a truck with that flip up center, but if i remember right,i think if you lift the matt up in the bottom of the center hole, there'll be a couple screws under it.

Thanks everyone, especially SitKneelBend for the videos. Now I just need a day off lol, not quite as simple as I hoped. I personally have a Bluetooth receiver plugged into my aux port, and want to keep as much of the factory stereo in tact as possible.

View attachment 545033found the short, all 3 audio wires look cut, no visible damage to the outside of the wiring harness, right at the hinge point. It's a wonder it worked at all, only the right channel was intermittent. Thanks all.
I'm having trouble visualizing the location here. Where is this?

In the wiring harness inside the jump seat. The break was at the hinge point (lower left in my original picture). I fished the wires down though the hinge trim, and cut some zip ties under the center seat to get slack to make a repair, then fished it back up.

My guess is whoever did the custom upholstery (before I bought the truck) put the wires above the hinge bolt and pinched them, instead of under the bolt where they have better clearance.

Got it, thanks! I wonder if I did the same thing (positioned the wires wrong) when I swapped the tray to fit the 2018+ USB hub? I've been thinking about opening mine up again to add the cigar lighter plug back to the tray by drilling a hole for it. Maybe I'll investigate this area while I'm at it...

Well this got me motivated to add the cigar lighter port back to my console today. There was a strange wiring issue but I just un-pinned and moved a wire under the seat and all is working so now I have power for a wireless charger again. I had to split the wire harness to get some slack to move the cigar lighter to it's new location but there is plenty of room under the latch for this...
