Hello guys I’m new on here but thought some of you guys might be able to point me in the right direction. I have a 2012 3500 tradesman with manual seats and no lumbar. I just bought leather electric sport seats from a 2014 ram 1500. I want to put them in my truck just curious on wiring schematics. The plugs are different. My truck seats have air bags along with the new sport seats. Haven’t started the swap yet just trying to get information. I scored and got front and rear leather seats along with the business console all for 500$. Just trying to find the best place to find wiring schematics for each seat.

Thanks

does the drivers seat have 3 electric motors in the Base ?

your 2012 Dodge Ram wiring, is likely quite different from the 2013 - 2018 Ram
especially the Connectors

Yes the new seat has three motors. I’m not to worried about getting power to the seat mostly concern for air bags along/ seatbelt wiring. My manual seat has airbags and that’s it and has 3 different plugsIMG_0394.jpeg

This site will let you know the wiring for everything you need. You are right in thinking the 12v power is the low hanging fruit, it should be the only new wire you need to run.

Well guys I got them all figured out and installed and everything work. Thanks for the help was able to just transfer airbags and seat belt buckle from the old seats to the new seats with no issues. I did have a plug under drivers seat that had power so was able to take those wires out of the old plug and add them to the exsisting plug and everything works. Very happy with how they look and how comfortable they are… everyday turning my tradesman into a wannabe Laramie!!!!. Now the next project is to do the remote shifter to install the full center console!!!!IMG_0489.jpeg

Looks great! It's fun to find the upgraded parts and install them to a base model. I started with a 2014 Express and now have a 2014 Ramforum Edition!

I dig it! If you don't have AlfaOBD I'd suggest getting it so you can add pretty much any factory feature yourself and program the BCM. Happy modding!

So I had manual seats but my truck was wired for power and other stuff under the seat. My biggest issue was the air bag plugs were different between the seats. So I ended up taking the fabric back on the seats and using my original air bags in the new seats. Then I just found the positive wire and wired it in so the power seats worked.
