So the encoder is in the exact same position in 4-Auto, 4-Lock and 4-Low?

4auto and 4 Lock I assume are in the exact same position. When I'm in 4 auto and hit 4 Lock I do not hear the encoder whine or do anything. I'm Guessing they don't lock the t case clutches in 4auto till needed. It's a little nippy out there today so Ill craw under another day and confirm 100%. Also I think it was your idea to put everything in the cab of the truck? I don't remember for sure that's a ways back in the forum lol. I'm really thinking about doing this though. Kind of like the bd 2wd disconnect idea like was mentioned. I did not realize they all used the same transfer case modules and plugs this is why I so quickly removed that idea. I was wrong about that so I apologize for dismissing it so quickly. Lots rattling around in this head lol. I'm Going to wire it inside though it's easier and I wont need sealed relays and the dealer would never know by looking at it either. I need to find the plugs that plug into the transfer case module now though lol.

Just wanted to post this it's kind of funny. I turned my max me on today and accide tly hit history from the other day when I was trying out my other harness that didn't work. I noticed today that even the truck and my max me say it's an awd system not 4wd. [emoji23] Good job dodge lol. 09e9e1efc0258f2f0ab29fc6ff12cd68.jpg

Sample plugs are on the way to make it a plug and play install. Too bad they changed the blower motor resistor plug so often or I'd take power and ground off that and make it an easier install yet. [emoji16] a1453f87b736433268a7fd8135c88097.jpg

I'll be keeping a eye on this thread for sure. Being able to keep the 4-Auto on the street when it's nasty and actually having real 4wd lock is something I'm certainly interested in. If you get something together I'd rather go that route and upgrade the clutches if and when they fail rather than do a 44-45 swap.

Hey guys, havnt forgot about you! The sample. Connectors for the bcm shipped so I should Have them soon, then I'll make a nice harness with no cutting or splicing. (other Than power and ground) I have been testing this t case switch with no issues so far. 2300 km on the truck since I did the mod. I'd say 250 ish km on the mod it's self intermittently. Wish there was a way to shut off esc with alfaod.
I'm pretty happy how well this works. [emoji16]
I'll keep you guys updated.

Is there still the problem with the traction control light coming on?

Not until I'm in the deep stuff spinning all tires it never came on until I was pushing it harder than I likely should have been. I find it works better when esc turns its self off.

Im curious if the whole system overall works better (even without the harness) if ESC is disabled. It *felt* a little better to me over the weekend when I tried, but we have not had anything resembling deep snow around here for a while and I didnt get a chance to try it that way back when there was snow on the ground.

In my opinion with esc turned off in the passed it does work better because abs isn't always stopping the momentum you are trying to pick up to get out. I just wish I could turn off abs and esc without the dashboard lighting up like a Christmas tree. It'd always be turned off if it didn't kick any codes.

Nice thing about the t case switch is it doesnt kick any codes. The truck thinks everything tcase related is working properly. Just the esc when spinning lots will Cut out but that's only temporary so I'm Not terribly concerned more of an advantage in my eyes.

I’m a newbie, my 2019 has a switch to turn off traction control and when I put it in 4 LO it turns off the traction control. Couldn’t you turn off traction control to prevent it doing it on its own?

I could Switch it to turn it off but it will Throw a code anyways. My 2015 is the same way. You can hit the button but traction control is 75% ish active so it doesn't make as much of a difference.
The thing I do like is it will turn its self off with the t case locked and then turn its self back on after about 100 yards. I think it does that because it's trying to monitor wheel speed and when it sees that they're spinning faster it tries to modulate but the t case is still pushing torque to the front wheels, Esc is trying to (stop) slow down for traction but you're already clawing ur way out instead of half spinning a hole with no power at the wheels. This is why it throws a code, basically the front wheels aren't listening to the esc and getting traction as they should and the truck is like this isn't right I wana be stuck lets turn on this light and disable myself. Lol I find it way nicer when it's turned off. If it wants to do it automatically in deep snow while digging hard I'm personally ok with it. Just means I won't have to use my tuner to shut it off.
Not sure if that makes sense.
On that note it does leave a code in the pcm/ecu but it only comes up once no matter how many times esc shuts off and once ur rolling it senses wheel speeds are normal again and goes back To its original state only leaving a stored code which does not leave any lights in the dash illuminated. After 50-80 key starts any evidence of the code gets erased but being a stored code dealer wouldnt ever touch it they just ignore stored codes. Around here the code could come out of the pcm and smack them and they'd ignore it. But that's another story. [emoji849] There's a reason I bought a fancy scan tool and won't go to the dealer unless its an expensive fix. Lol.

Hey guys just wondering if I set this switch up on a 10 minute timer, so after 10 minutes it will turn off till the switch is turned on again. What do you guys think. That would be a good feature or more of a pain in the ****?

In some ways it would be nice but at other times it would be irritating.
