Back to the original question about the transmission cooler. Are you having an issue with the transmission getting too hot now? Have you tried towing yet to even see if the trans gets hotter versus driving around empty? As mentioned above the transmissions are designed to operate at a certain temperature. Colder is not necessarily better...it's only better if it's too hot to begin with. What I mean is if it runs in the 190F-200F range than it's fine and not sure if running at say 170F is really "better". If you are constantly running 230F when towing than I would say you need additional cooling.
