The other day I was backing out of my garage and I used the rotary shifter to put it into reverse and as it started to go backwards it suddenly stopped. I thought I had hit something, so my wife got out and verified that I hadn't hit anything. So I put it in drive and something shuddered. After the shuddering it went continued to move forward as normal. I then put it back into reverse and same thing...started going fine and then just dead in it's tracks. I messed around with the 4-wheel drive system, placed the transfer case in neutral and it would not budge. I didn't want to give it too much gas as to not break something. I just drove it problem free the day before on errands. It has no issues shifting into any gear.

2013 Ram Sport, all factory, no modifications.

Ideas are welcome!!
Thanks

If you couldn't get it to move with the T-case in neutral sounds like axle. I would think it would whine alot. Easy way to find out is to pop the diff cover and check for laid over teeth or metal in the housing. At 5 years old a fluid change would be good for it even if nothing's wrong. Just be sure to check if you have the anti spin and if you do get the friction modifier to put in there.

Turns out after some further investigation it was the parking brake boots/shoes...I never use the parking brake so I had not even considered that...funny thing is if I had just given it more gas it would have freed itself up...ugh.

Thanks for all your advice and putting up with my ignorance!!

I wouldn't call it ignorance, with these very computerized and maximized trucks these days, im nervous with any little tick, knock, or shutter myself, my first thought when i hear a noise is " Oh god what will that cost?" Glad it wasn't nothing more serious.
