Alright so I've got a question for y'all. On my 94 it tops out at 91. Heres were it gets weird, I'll floor it and it will downshift to second then it pulls up to the rev limiter at 5,200 rpm and just rides it. I won't shift in to 3rd at full throttle I have to back down to about half throttle then I'll floor it and it just down shifts again. Tranny works great rebuilt 20,000 miles ago it works like a top. So what do you guys suggest?

So you floor it around 80 and it hits second and rides it up to the rev limiter and top speed limiter? Im trying to see what the question is on this, only time you would see that kinda speed would also be at a track where you wouldnt let out of it and roll back into it also.

Out of curiousity I would check for error codes. There might be a clue to a failed solenoid or sensor in the trans.

I don't have an OBD1 scanner but I will see if I can get it scanned at the local auto parts store.

KG its on the rev limiter not the top speed. It's just not wanting to shift in 3rd WOT.

Ok I've got an update its getting worse. My fluid is starting to turn black and smelling a little burnt. Trans was rebuilt 22,000 miles ago I think when it was reinstalled something wasn't adjusted right like the kickdown. I checked the codes and the only one I got was the part throttle unlock solenoid driver circuit open or shorted. Would that be the kick down or something?

[yt]Tranny issue - YouTube[/yt] A little update guys did a tranny fluid drain and changed the filter the pan was perfectly clean. No junk or anything re installed everything and still no change. I was thinking maybe the adjustment bad could possibly need adjusted or could it be a vaccum related problem since I have a blown plenum gasket? I can't really figure this one out. Anyways here is a video explaining what it's doing and showing you it. It would ride the rev limiter until I went down to about 3/4 throttle then it shifted to 3rd and OD. Now if I gave it more then 3/4 throttle it down shifts to second. Like I said in the video and earlier post the only code I'm getting is part throttle driver unlock solinoid. Which as far as I understand that deals with the converter locking up at crusing which it does just fine. I'm trying to get this figured out for two reasons. Longevity and the fact that I do drag race and my track is about to open.
