I have 2014 Sport crew cab with base audio. I have added the 77KICK44 Kicker subwoofer and upgraded the dash speakers with Kicker CS35's and all 4 door speakers with Blaupunkt 6x9 QL690's. Now i have almost annoying highs and some decent base but almost nothing form the door speakers it seems. I am adding a 75 watts RMS watts per channel JL Audio 4 channel class D amp next week to power the doors. What is the best way to hook the amp up to trigger it to turn on? I noticed that the Kicker amp for the sub is on as soon as I open the door because i can see the green led on the amp come on it i look under the seat. Kicker told me that kicker amp uses dc offset on the speaker wire (left front where it is tapped to) so when the door is opened, or closed it gets a signal. Stereo shop said they would recommend powering the new amp off a wire that is live when ignition is in accessory mode. Any thoughts out there? Thanks!
