anybody have a write up pictorial on how to rig up lights for your bed?

I’m kinda thinkin I’d like to run a couple of led light ropes under the bed rails.

I’d like to tie into the existing switch in the cab for the 3rd brake (cargo) light.

Thanks

That video does exactly what you're looking to do. I installed the same lights but I actually prefer having a switch at the back so you don't have to go up front or dig out your key to turn them on. Just personal preference though...

I like your reasoning with that switch

Whoa let’s get more daytime pics of your bed organization setup. You using quickfists?

How’d you do your wiring for that switch?

I use waterproof LED tape lights in the bed of my buddies 2500 w/8' bed. I tapped the +12V from the trailer 7pin plug. Mounted a small plastic box using 2 sided 3M VHB tape that had a fuse and a safety switch.
I cleaned the underside of the bed rail really good with isopropyl alcohol. That was a couple of year ago, still work good and no problems with them peeling off. He says it works good to see his fiver hitch.
I'll second putting the switch in the back vs using the cab switch.IMG_20161016_154627986.jpg20161016_194154.jpg

A couple of things that I did, that I thought were important is that I wiped the area where the lights were going to be installed with some alcohol first to insure the surface was clean and then used some adhesion promoter on the area to make sure the 3M tape stuck really well.
