Truck occasionally does not move after stopping. Engine does not die. When I push the gas, rpm’s don’t move. I have to shift to park and restart the truck and then all is fine. Just bought the truck but I just had the truck serviced for the full 100k recommendations. The truck is a 2011 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with towing package. I’ve had the truck a week, driven it every day but the issue has only happen 3 times. Any ideas?

Most likely transmission. Is yours the 5spd? Could be a safety in the trans but usually they go to limp mode. If it’s driving and just goes to nothing it almost seems like it’s not shifting right on the downshift. So could be a solenoid

Have someone with a good scanner try to pull some codes does not matter if engine light is on It could be something as simple as a throttle body issue/loose connection.

It has the 5-Spd Automatic 545RFE Transmission. I will run it back by the dealer to check the codes/other.

I’ve a 2011 as well. Had a case where I wasn’t able to shift out of park. Literally could not move the gear selector, unless I pressed the brake pedal @3 times and then it’d release. Was told it wasn’t uncommon and the issue was a brake sensor on the pedal. Had it Replaced…… never an issue again.

Not sure if related to your issue, but figured I’d share it in case it might be.

Keep us posted :waytogo:

Start simple check the fluid. If the 100000 mile service change includes a trans fluid change, make sure the filter isn’t sitting in the pan. If not installed correctly, they fall off and sit in the pan.

Must have been speed reading
:driver:
usually the devil is in the details, although the part about having to shut the truck off and restart can go either way. People have gotten their transmission to respond after a restart.
