What are things to look out for to keep my truck running well and for as long as possible?

routine throttle body cleaning?
faulty water pump designs?
diff's prone to blowing?

any input would help

its a 2002 1500 auto trans with a manual shift 4X4 5.9 Mag 3.92 gears with a limited slip with 201-*** KM'S on it

It's common for the valve guide seals to wear out and the engine will start to burn oil. Drive shaft U-joints, front axle joints and on the 5.9 the Plenum gasket can be a problem (there is a good write up in the 2nd gen section). Welcome to RF.

yeah I need to do some research into the Plenum gasket, it doesn't have as much power as I feel 330FT/LB should feel like and I'm getting about 10.8 MPG is that normal? it's not that big of a deal to me I just want to know if that's an indication of a problem.

and thanks for the welcome.

Here is the plenum write up I did with another member

With 10.8 mpg, you've either got large tires, lots of in town driving, a blown plenum or a heavy foot.

As far as everything else, the Dodge 46RE transmission is not the best. It's known for overheating and wearing out the clutches and bands and the rear diff is known for locking up if you have an LSD that has worn out clutch packs that have decided to grenade themselves.

It's the sport package so it's got the 20" chromes and 33" rubbers on it and 75%ish of my driving is in town so that's just probably what it gets I don't useally bring the RPM above 2500 because I really don't need to lol kinda figured that was about right for Mileage because nothing feels wrong, tranny doesn't feel like it's slipping and it shifts pretty smooth the back end only chirps here and there when in a parking lot at full wheel lock so I'm not worried about it

Thanks for the input guys
