True duals or single in two out???? 5.9 magnum.
Right now I have true duals with magnaflow cats and two glass packs one side each. Went in to fix a snapped hanger. Come to find out my exhaust are messed up. So im just guna start from scratch. I need opinions on true duals or not?? and either FM super10s or back to glass packs??
Any info on the best system for my truck will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You won't see any advantage from going with true duals honestly. I've got a few mods on my motor and I'm even going to another single in dual out set up. Personally, and others here will most likely agree, I haven't been a huge fan of the FM Super 10. I like my Super 44 but I'm changing just to get something new. I'd go with a Maggy or Dynomax race bullet. Or you could do what I'm doing, and get a Spintech pro street muffler. Very loud and they flow good. And they're quite unique

Thanks for your input. Im really wanting a loud exhaust. The reason is dumb haha its just everybody knows my truck because of my exhausts loudness. Its like my signature unique sound to my truck. But ive never heard of spintech I think ill definitely check it out. And wht size pipe are u guna run?

Oh yeah I know. I love my loud exhaust too. Loud enough to where most people complain lol. My Super 44 wasn't quite loud enough for me. The Spintechs are pretty damn loud. Especially the 9000 apparently they're comparable to the Super 10 just with a different tone. That was just my thing with the Super 10 I've never been a fan of the tone. I'm going to run 2.5" pipe. But I also am going to run the Jegs off road y pipe, no cat. I had a thread not long ago where I was asking the same questions as you, I'll see if I can find the link. But yeah a recent speeding ticket dictated me having to wait ...

I have to pass visual, which I'll do with help from my fake cat. ae77830899cf482a74ec1ffc57574940.jpgea6888654493986c4b065c5390d7399f.jpg and I'll fool my check engine light with spark plug non foulers. Here in GA they don't test the actual emissions coming from the tail pipe unless you have an obd1 vehicle or older.

Haha exactly. Yeah nowadays there's very little lose in performance or sound from using a high flow cat so you should be good. Glad I could help you out man. Make sure to get a video of the exhaust when you're done and post it up in the 2nd gen exhaust clip thread!

I 2nd going with single. Much easier to run and you'll notice no gain from true duals over single in your current state of stock. 2.5" would be my recommendation as well to keep tq numbers up but flow well so as not to hamper hp.

My personal setup is shorty headers, stock y pipe and cat, Carven R Series, split into dual tailpipes also 2.5". Loud af on cold starts but fairly mild for warm starts. Wonderful rumble that is also pretty loud and because 95% of people don't know about Carven it's a very unique sound.

Stock cat doesn't flow all that bad really vs a high flow on these trucks you'll notice more gain from better bent y pipe. Jegs off-road with a high flow is a good combo. Look through the exhaust video sticky. I know Lifted01 has videos comparing hours old FM10 vs his new Spintech 9000. I might have a video of my Carven too, i can't remember. I do have videos of my various other setups I've run though all linked through YouTube so if i haven't posted my carven it's really easy to find because it is on YouTube.

So my exhaust guy put a brand new cat on my truck. So its dual in cat then single out to y pipe into two 2.5" pipes to short glass packs each pipe then the tips out sides. BUT NOT AS LOUD ANYMORE F¥[K!NG ANNOYED. But did notice its alot smoother and faster on the freeway. So my question is should I chop the glass packs n put carven Rs or spintech 9000s???? Or will it even make a difference? ?

Damn, cheapest route can be to cut out the glass packs. Then if you want to upgrade more from there throw a better y pipe in or a flowmaster 40..

It'll change the tone but i don't think it'd be louder.

Spintech 9000s are supposed to be loud. I wouldn't dump after the cat because of the tone. Sounds great on idle but so ****** accelerating..
Aren't glass packs supposed to break in and change sound? Maybe get louder? What kind of glass packs did you get?

The glass packs were there when I bought the truck they are short like 6" maybe. It had two magnaflow cats that he cut off to put the original dodge single cat for my sensors.
