Turbos and blowers are basically the same thing...a compressor that, well, compresses air before cramming it into the manifold.
The difference is superchargers are mechanically driven via a drive belt (pay no mind to "electric" superchargers, they're bull****).
Turbos use flowing exhaust gas to spin the turbine.
The common and general consensus is turbos can produce more peak power while superchargers have quicker throttle response. Of course, depending on tuning and what you use, your only real dilemma is personal preference. And both will require higher octane fuel because the denser (and more fueled) fuel/air mixture will be much more volatile (due to higher cylinder pressure) and need such fuel to maintain stability in the compression stroke (preignition is never a good thing).
Me, personally, I prefer naturally aspirated, LOL. If I want more torque, I'd look towards a stroker, but that's just me.
