Turboing my truck in next 3 weeks. Don't want to pull the motor for oil pan. So will the oil pan drop out with out doing so? Or what's some advice on when I go to drill and tap it if I keep it on.

The cummins should already be turbocharged what exactly are you doing? Also if your truck is a 2000 it should be a 24v not a 12v. You will need a tuner if you decide to do any serious upgrades.

The pan will come out without pulling the motor. Just lift it up a bit.
Don't drill without pulling it. No way to avoid chips in the pan.

Ahh that makes sense. I definitely agree with rowdy. Also post up plenty of pics and information. What kind of turbo are you using?

Its a turbo off of a 1st gen Cummins. Hx35 and only boosting about 5-10. But I was referring to drilling. Then draining oil and pouring some in and let it drain out to help flush it and chips

Like keep oil in it. Drill the hole. Drain oil. Leave plug out and dump a quart down it to flush

It still won't get all the chips out by doing that. Definitely best to take the pan off, that way none of the chips will block your pick up screen. Are you doing a remote turbo set up? Or are you fabbing up a manifold?

I'll do my best. And yeah laziness gets me. Haha I have another 360 block I'm freshening up to go in it too. But it'll be a remote setup.

Well I looked at it. And thank goodness mines a 2500. I don't think I'm GMA have any trouble removing the pan whole motor stays. Gna do it when I have all the parts. Just ordered all exhaust parts. Next weeks pay will go towards oil plumbing and it'll be on. Then week after do the intake side

Update: got all the exhaust work done. But getting another oil pan from a guy so waiting on him to get it off. Then swap them out. Find out a support method for the turbo to sit on. And it'll be on.

How you going to route the fresh air and where you planning on mounting the filter? Been thinking about a setup something like that for my V10, if I don't swap it out.

Op where are you putting or mounting the air filter? Under the truck, in the box, back under the hood?
