Uconnect 5.0 Radio Issues

For the past month or so the radio in my 2015 1500 has been glitchy. Every two minutes it will reset itself like I just turned on the truck and go back to whatever station I had it on. So I’d be listening to a station and it would cutoff and 20 seconds later I’m back on a different one. The Bluetooth and call features also went out which made it really unbearable. It would try connecting and just be stuck on the loading screen.

so I finally took it in to the local Dodge dealership and the price tag to replace the stock basic radio was a hefty $900! I have an extended warranty for 7 years/70K so they’re gonna call and see if it’s covered.I told him for that much I’d rather upgrade to the Uconnect 8.4 one with the new bevel, which I could order online used and just have them install if I couldn’t figure it out for myself.

Otherwise I might be going Bluetooth speaker in the glove box!

My 5.0 started the reboot boogie a few years ago and after contacting SXM and Ramcares I decided to go with the 8.4 upgrade. For some reason the 5.0 cant handle some SXM forced updates and it messes up the radio. Now I have no definitive proof of that but it was a know issue in the past and I suspect it continues. Quite annoying as the 5.0 is a serviceable radio but the 8.4 is WAY BETTER!

I have a 2018 Ram 2500 Big Horn with Uconnect 8.4 Radio. Over the last few months I have been having the following issues.

• Radio will freeze up and no controls will work till truck is shut off for 5 mins
• Screen will go Blue then restart
• Radio Stations on XM/ Sirius will change by them selves

I have taken my truck to the dealership where I had to pay 150 towards investigation. They claimed it was an update that was causing the issue. However after 3 days it went back to doing the same thing. I am curious where to go from here. Any assistance would help.

i recently bought a 2022 RAM Rebel. with uconnect 5 radio. it sucks. hands down one of the worst radios i have ever had in a vehicle. i paid almost 80000 for the truck and the damn radio resets all the time. its to the point that its almost every time i restart it. have to take it to the stealer and have them document the issue so i can get it replaced.

i recently bought a 2022 Ram Rebel and have the uconnect 5 radio. the worst radio i have ever had. it resets my presets almost every time i shut it off and turn it back on. have almost 5000 miles on it. need to have the stealer check it. i'll start running it by every time it does it so we can document it and get a new radio. the way it is now is unacceptable.
