UConnect 8.4 Update Message - disappeared

I accidentally turned on my UConnect screen this morning for the first time in a couple months. Bumped the screen when going for the temp control. It had some sort of large black screen over the normal stuff. I didn't have my glasses on, but I recognized the word "update" and saw a green check box and red x box. Before I could pull over to put on my glasses to read what it said, the message went away.
I've had the truck for 2 1/2 years and have never had any UConnect updates and never saw any message like this before.
Is there a way to fumble through the menus and find some option that will bring that message back so I can see what kind of update it's suggesting that I should do so I know what to expect to not work correctly when I don't do it?

You sure it wasn't a recall message? They recently started pushing recall messages to the screen. I had one the other day. It doesn't stay up long, took me a couple times to catch it long enough to read it.
