Uconnect update?

So I really wanna update my connect to be like my buddies 2016 power wagon I just want the ability to turn on my backup camera when moving, his can and also do cargo but of course I don't have one of those, now could I get his vin and get the software for his connect and then throw it into mine for that feature,I means it's all the same system,plus he can move his apps at the bottom pretty cool

I would be careful. I am not an expert by any means but from what I understand, there is some subtle part number differences between years on these radios and throwing in a newer years software may run the risk of bricking your radio if it takes at all.

Sadly only 2016 can do it - some sort of software/hardware changes prevent us earlier years from doing the same.

Here is a 2016 RA4 if you are looking to get one. I would not wait around as price is about what average market is.

Also I read that the backup camera on the 2015s get the power cut to it in everything but reverse so just getting the 2016 radio might not allow you to turn on the backup camera.

This, the camera works fine but after you move the vehicle to drive, power is cut by the BCM.

Other software wont install anyways, it looks at the vin i beleive first when it starts loading

To my knowledge 13 &14 share software updates / 15 has its own and the 16s have their own .
There are 3 diff software groups for 2013+ Ram radios .
