If you have the money, I think you would be very please with upgrading to either a 2018+ OEM radio or aftermarket. There is no guarantee that the aircard swap will fix you (but it likely will). I'd be happy to help you find a salvage radio at a decent price if you want to upgrade. If you go aftermarket, Crutchfield is the best for finding all the adapters to make the radio install go smoothly. The Chinese Android radios are a budget middle ground that users seem to be happy with to gain Android Auto and Carplay (but support may be more difficult).Ok let me throw this out there. I keep bouncing between repairing mine, swapping in a newer factory model or going with something like a Kenwood head unit with install kit. I like the price of fixing mine and I'm not worried about tackling it. At the same time for ~$650 I could do the aftermarket unit and have android auto also. Just things that are rolling around in my head.
Your current radio in even in it's current state will be worth some money too should you choose to sell it (I'd say $100-$200).
To answer you other question directly, yes the AR7552 should be the only part you need to fix your radio. If you go to eBay and put one in your watchlist now, you may get a lower offer from the seller while you mull over your options.
